Psychiatrist Rehabilitation Program for Child and Adolescent

Our Psychiatrist Rehabilitation Program supports clients with accessing services and resources in the communities and works diligently to ensure that the clients have access to the best treatments. Our rehabilitation Staff provide services in the communities. Our Staff assist clients with learning and developing enhanced daily living skills and thriving daily towards accomplishing healthy coping mechanisms. Light Hope Inc is licensed by the State of Maryland Department of Health and are accredited by CARF.

At LHI our skilled rehabilitation staff provide a combination of individual and group rehabilitation activities that are precise to each rehabilitation goals, targeting identified needs based on information from the referring mental health professional, a comprehensive assessment, and meetings with the child and their family to collaborate effectively for desired results.

PRP staff routinely evaluate progress with each child and their parent/guardian/support team and provide monthly summary reports to the primary therapist and other mental health professionals working with the child.

Eligibility and Referrals
  • A psychiatric diagnosis that meets the priority population definition, as determined by the Behavioral Health Authority.
  • Referrals completed by a licensed mental health clinician.
  • A Child Must Be between 5 – 17 years old
  • Actively participating in mental health treatment
  • Diagnosed with a behavioral health diagnosis
  • Willing to participate in PRP services
  • A Medical Assistance recipient

Referral Process:
  • Submit a Referral Form, along with a Professional Assertion of Need (verification that child meets medical necessity criteria).
  • PRP staff will contact the family, guardian, or Foster Care provider to schedule a face-to-face screening/meeting to:
  • Assess the child’s rehabilitation service needs and willingness to participate in PRP services; and.
  • Determine the program’s ability to address the child’s behavioral health needs

  • Housing stability assistance
  • Monthly program calendars are provided to all children and their families.
  • Rehabilitation Counselors schedule visits with the children and their families/guardians based on the level of need, client preference, and availability.
  • Children who have chosen to participate in onsite and offsite services participate in a minimum of three visits/services per month (2 onsite activities and 1 offsite visit or 1 onsite activity and 2 offsite visits).
